Sayulitas Mexican Food announced on social media last week that the trusted taco shop would be headed to Santee. A recent permit filed with the city confirms their new East County location on Woodside Avenue near CA-67.
The news about Santee comes on the heels of the announcement to close their Escondido location. Their San Marcos shop will continue to serve North County. Sayulitas operates five restaurants, with the majority spread across San Diego County and one location in Las Vegas.
Owner Rosalinda Flores confirmed with What Now San Diego they’re currently renovating the restaurant space formerly occupied by Sultan’s Bar and Grill in Santee.
Sayulitas Mexican Food serves traditional Mexican food with Filipino fusion. Popular menu items include the Lumpia Burrito, filled with Carne Asada, Lumpia, French Fries, Guacamole and Sour Cream. They also serve loaded-up french fry plates with Carne Asada, Al Pastor, and even Hot Cheetos.
Sayulitas in Santee is expected to open in mid-February 2022, once renovations are completed. For now, visit their open San Diego locations in Mira Mesa, San Marcos, Otay Mesa, and Southcrest. Stay updated by following Sayulitas on Facebook.
