The company’s second location is set to replace Whomp Burger & Brew, according to San Diego Magazine. The new Rosemarie’s Burgers is expected to open in the second week of October, offering the same delicious burgers that helped grow the company from a food truck to a brick-and-mortar at 3852 Mission Blvd. This appears to be the first of many new locations for Chef and owner Nick Balsamo, who tells the publication he hopes to expand to other San Diego neighborhoods.

“My wife and I started our journey here, and my son was born here,” Balsamo tells San Diego Magazine. “We want Rosemarie’s to be a staple in this community, offering great food and a loving atmosphere where everyone feels like family. I don’t want to franchise. I want a few Rosemarie’s in specific neighborhoods where they can truly belong. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our new location and celebrate this milestone with the community. Ocean Beach has supported us from the start, and we’re excited to continue this journey together.”

While Ocean Beach has long had Hodads as its go-to burger spot in the area, Rosemarie’s hopes to win over the laid-back crowd with its delicious sliders. These sliders are made with a Wagyu beef patty, onion confit, American cheese, special sauce with Kewpie mayo, and pickle on a brioche bun. The restaurant is also known for its duck fat Nashville hot chicken and softshell crab sliders. In addition to various other slider options, the restaurant will also have a handful of sides, beer, wine, and spirits.

“Nick’s journey led to the birth of Rosemarie’s in San Diego, a thriving mobile kitchen concept that gained local media recognition, including the San Diego Reader,” according to the company’s website. “With a team of talented chefs, he continues to operate this successful venture and has recently opened a brick-and-mortar gastropub, providing a fun and family-oriented atmosphere where his exceptional slider creations can be enjoyed by all.”
