Owner of the new Rancho Bernardo Roberto’s Taco Shop Jose Robledo said the new location was in the perfect spot for the restaurant to continue to grow.

“We’ve been looking for a new spot in that area for a while and we really like the community,” he said. “We feel it’s underserved with Mexican food options.

The new location will be in the Plaza at Rancho Bernardo, a shopping mall right off Interstate 15, as the taco shop will be moving into space previously occupied by Which Wich.

“It’s conveniently located in the center with plenty of parking and foot traffic,” Robledo added. “We’re planning on a large outdoor patio.”

Robledo hopes to open sometime in May in the 1,400-square-foot space.

“We can’t wait to open for business and start serving people around that area,” he added. “I’m really looking forward to it.”

Robledo said he’s looking at other nearby areas for expansion such as Poway and 4S Ranch.

Roberto’s was San Diego’s first walk up and drive-thru taco shop and continues to set the standard for fresh, authentic, and inexpensive Mexican food.

With 70 taco shops today, Roberto’s continues to serve traditional Mexican across California and Nevada.
