After a long wait, Rincon Reservation Road Brewery (or 3R Brewery) are ready to open doors at their Newport Avenue Tasting Room in Ocean Beach. Their flagship location remains on tribal land at Harrah’s Resort and Casino in Valley Center. The brewery is operated by Rincon Economic Development Corporation (REDCO) who are dedicated to bridging ancestral heritage with the craft beer community.

The coastal location is significant to the history of the tribe. Known as the original Californians, the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians traversed the land between the ocean and Palomar Mountain between seasons.

In the new taproom, guests will be treated to a mural by artist Joe Hopkins which reflects the tribal arrival to modern Ocean Beach.

Their beer list showcases a variety of beers that speak to many but are also named with regional meaning. Their popular brews include the Chief IPA, Red Rattler Amber Ale, Oasis Blonde Ale, and the Tuupash Blueberry Saison.

According to San Diego Beer News, 3R Brewery is also in the process of acquiring their food permit to allow their on-site offerings to grow. They’ve partnered with Chef Ron Oliver, formerly of the Marine Room, to create a menu to further highlight their deep respect for local land by using native ingredients and honoring Luiseño culture.

3R Brewery will begin pouring beers in Ocean Beach on Sunday, January 16th. For now, their taproom is open amidst the beauty of the reservation tucked away in Valley Center. Follow their Facebook for updates and announcements.
