After finding success in the South Bay, R&B Tea is already planning their second Chula Vista location. The bubble tea brand currently operates locations in Carlsbad, Convoy, and Eastlake Chula Vista.
What Now San Diego caught up with CEO Teresa Le, who tells us more about R&B’s speedy growth. “We’re growing fast and we could not be more proud with how we’re being received,” shares Le.
The Taiwanese-inspired brand has 24 locations open in the US. With another 27 locations in the works, they’ll double their total locations by Summer 2022. R&B is expected to introduce another three locations to the San Diego market this year, with the first being on H Street in Chula Vista.
“We knew San Diego would be a great location for us and our Convoy location was doing well. We didn’t know much about the Chula Vista area or how well we’d be received there. Once we opened and we did so well, that urged us to start looking for a second location,” explains Le.
Keeping up with demand, R&B has a dedicated team testing recipes and playing with their menu to bring fresh new drinks to their customers. Besides serving a variety of fresh fruit teas, milk teas, they’ve recently introduced their Stormy Series of blended tea drinks. Le says their Oreo Chocolate Stormy is one of their top drinks. Another new fruit-forward drink they’ve created is the Mango-nada, using fresh mango blended with ice and chili flavors.
The exciting part is rolling out new products to their locations and seeing what each area enjoys. The tea chain supports their franchisees throughout the opening process, setting up their social media and getting marketing rolling, then handing it over to their local partners to continue the relationship with locals.
Franchisee Khoa Nguyen tells us the new Chula Vista spot is expected to open in June 2022. Another R&B Tea is in the works in the San Carlos neighborhood in Summer 2022 also. Stay tuned for more announcements by following R&B Tea on Facebook.
