In Summer 2021, San Diegans can anticipate a new Pure Project tasting room with sizeable outdoor seating. Their upcoming location at 2867 El Cajon Blvd. will span 7,000 square feet, with 5,000 square feet of that space being a patio area.

Pure Project’s co-owner Mat Robar expects this North Park venue will bring in many new customers, due to the COVID-conscious outdoor floor plan.

“We won’t know the exact occupancy yet, but it seems like we’ll be able to seat a good amount of people,” Robar said. “This will have more of an outdoor porch vibe than any of our other venues. ”

The North Park taproom will be the latest in Pure Project’s recent growth trajectory. Their Miramar, Balboa Park and Carlsbad locations have remained open throughout the pandemic, thanks to support from loyal customers and an increase in to-go orders.

“We’ve been able to move a good amount of our production into to-go format whenever customers aren’t able to attend our actual taprooms in person,” Robar said. “We’ve been really humbled by the outpouring of support from people who are still coming to our brewery and buying things to go.”

Pure Project plans on bringing their sustainable ideology into this new venue by sourcing compostable products and avoiding single-use plastics.

“Everything we put into this taproom location will remain there for a long time, so that’s how we’ve managed to incorporate sustainability in our build-out,” Robar said.

The new taproom will fill the space of an old auto paint shop. Soon, Pure Project will be neighbors with North Park’s Empanada Kitchen and Ray’s Mexican.

“We’re excited to open this location up,” Robar said. “North Park area is really amazing and we can’t wait to be a part of the community.”
