Only a few blocks from the ocean, Dillon Berkabile’s new eatery and community space, Palmys, will offer healthy options in the form of an all-day café.
Palmys recently signed a lease for 976 Felspar Street in Pacific Beach, which according to SanDiegoVille, is a 1920s-era cottage that most recently housed a branch of Brick & Bell. The space is roughly 2,700 square-feet, on the corner of Cass and Felspar.
Berkabile is the brains behind Bowlology, a chain primarily in Vegas and SoCal that serves up healthy açaí bowls, pitaya bowls, poké Bowls, and smoothies. SanDiegoVille reports Palmys menu’s will focus on healthy options for meals as well and have ample indoor and outdoor seating.
While the eatery’s Instagram hasn’t betrayed a lot, recent posts indicate the spot is in full-remodel mode, and the eatery is reportedly aiming to be open by late June or early July. Berkabile was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
Either way, the café’s message is clear: “cruise in and chill out.” Palmys aims to be much more than just a place to grab a quick bite.
