Just one month after opening their first-ever location, Padadak Korean Chicken is on track to open a total of four branches around the county. Poway residents can expect their own Padadak at 10549 Scripps Poway Parkway, in the space that most recently held a Which Wich sandwich shop.

The new manager of the upcoming Poway branch, June Tateyama, spoke with What Now San Diego about the upcoming plans. While she could not confirm a specific date for the Poway debut, she hopes the next restaurant will be up and running within the next couple of months.

“It isn’t easy to open a restaurant now, with all of the virus restrictions, so we aren’t sure about the day,” she said. “But, we just hope that everyone will be able to come and try the food and also stay healthy.”

The La Jolla branch has been utilizing delivery apps since opening last month, through which they offer Korean classics like teokbokki spicy rice cakes and chi-bob vegetable rice bowls. The featured chicken dish comes in the form of wings, drums, or strips, slathered in the customer’s choice of soy garlic, sweet and spicy, or golden sparkling sauce.

According to their website, the name Padadak translates to the movement of “a chicken fluttering powerfully towards the sky.”

In addition to the La Jolla and Poway stores, owner Jun Ho Nam plans to open two additional Padadaks in San Marcos and Clairemont Mesa.
