“Our recipes honor ancient Chinese tradition while drawing inspiration from other Asian cuisines including Korean and Japanese classics,” says The Steamy Piggy’s website, “All of our dishes are perfect for family-style sharing, which means you don’t have to pick just one thing (and you shouldn’t have to).”

The Steamy Piggy has been serving San Diegans since 2017, and now it appears the fresh take and fresh ingredients may be applied to a new concept. A liquor license application was recently filed for Chou-Chan’s Formoosa at 4646 Convoy Street, Suite 103. The permit, for on-sale beer and wine at an eating place, is currently pending, while a temporary license was issued yesterday.

Chou-Chan was unavailable to comment on the second eatery’s concept, so you’ll want to check back in for updates on The Steamy Piggy’s new neighbor.
