The teams from Deft Brewing and Lost Cause Meadery announced via press release today that they are in the process of upgrading their 2,500-square-foot outdoor space in Bay Park to reveal a new biergarten collaborative called The Gärten. Known for their traditional European-style beers, Deft Brewing secured their place in Bay Park in 2017. Lost Cause Meadery moved in next door to Deft in 2020, making good use of a new window within ABC law allowing breweries and wineries to co-license tasting room space.

Serving their signature ciders and meads, Lost Cause will also introduce their new brand Oddish Wine in late 2022.

Oddish Wine will round out the beverage options in the venue, specializing in sparkling wines with innovative fruit-forward fermentations such as Pineapple + Chardonnay and Guava + Sauvignon Blanc.

Mobile kitchen Pizza Cassette which launched earlier this year will pair their culinary stylings with the plethora of alcoholic beverages at the site. You can find their pop-up regularly at the Banks Street compound serving wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, and shareable appetizers.

The Gärten intends to be a welcoming dining and drinking destination in Bay Park, offering communal outdoor seating space alongside Mission Bay with easy access from nearby Linda Vista Trolley Station. The tenants intend to offer a wide range of on-site entertainment like local art events, live music, and comedy, taking advantage of the temperate weather which should offer a comfortable outdoor experience more than 100 nights of the year.

The Gärten is slated to open at 5322 Banks Street in Bay Park in September 2022. Stay updated by following each vendor’s Instagram at @deftbrewing@lostcausemead and @pizzacassette.
