Launched in 2021 by Chef William Eick of Matsu, Naegi was introduced as a pop-up served from a takeout window at Matsu’s Tremont Street location in Oceanside. Naegi relaunched as a food truck in early 2022, serving outside of South O Brewing.

Specializing in karaage, Naegi serves up their Japanese fried chicken as wings, sandwiches, drumsticks, and thighs.

Their sandos are not to be missed, elevated by Japanese milk bread from Eick’s other brand Hokkaido Bread Company. Menu options include a traditional egg salad, Ebi (fried shrimp), and even Wagyu beef.

Naegi teases via social media that they’ll be open very soon but no opening date has been announced. Visit their Instagram page for more information.
