A soft opening is planned for Mochinut for Friday to open a new location on Convoy Street. Doughnuts available will include cookies & cream, strawberry, matcha, original, and churro.

Moving into Kearny Mesa, Mochinut is ready to prove to San Diego that it is more than just a doughnut.

Mochi donuts originated in Hawaii and are a combination of Japanese rice cakes (mochi) and American-style doughnuts. Mochinut’s popularity is thanks to its unique shape and wonderful texture; light crispy coating with a soft chewy inside.

Flavors vary from chocolate, vanilla, matcha, earl grey, and can come topped with cookies, fruits, nuts, and more.

Mochinut has as many as 30 more new stores scheduled to open in California, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington.

According to the website, there are additional locations planned for Mira Mesa, Kearny Mesa, and the Westfield UTC.
