Mister A’s opened their doors in 1965 by founder and namesake John Alessio. Earlier this year, the restaurant on the 12th floor of the Manchester Financial Building announced operations manager Ryan Thorsen as the new owner of Mister A’s.

Renovations have concluded to breathe new life into the classic location, known for their sprawling views, elegant dining room, and luxuriously crafted cuisine by chef Stephane Voitzwinkler, bar manager Alvin Pugeda, and wine director Scott Rose

The restaurant has been closed the last three months to undergo renovations. Interior Designer Mauricio Couturier lent his expertise as a consultant on the project. Couturier’s touch can be found in other local establishments like Wolfie’s Carousel and Camino Riviera, among others.

Design elements include lavish crystal chandeliers, 7 of which were relocated from a Mount Helix villa formerly owned by the Alessio family, marble flooring, custom wall coverings, and hand painted ceiling frescoes and filigree adorn the Rotunda by Charlotte Jackson of LA-based Scarab Studio

A new 18-seat bar and indoor and outdoor lounges compliment the original dining areas, giving additional access to patio areas with plush chairs and contemporary lounge seating overlooking the San Diego skyline.

Look out for embossed blue and red menus adorned with the signature script “A” to review a menu of retro cocktails, à la carte options featured in the bar and lounge, and in the main dining room the elegant culinary experience Mister A’s is known for, built on seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients.

Dinner service will resume on October 11th at Mister A’s. Online reservations have opened as of today, October 5th. To learn more about Mister A’s, visit their Website and follow on Instagram for updates.
