Known as “Taco Alley,” the original Las Ahumaderas was featured on Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” TV show when he toured Baja in 2012. The location is known for a bustling scene of vendors selling a variety of street tacos.

Renderings of the new location by Haro Space Design show a layout that features multiple options for counter service and stylish artwork that set the scene. The location will feature food by Chula Vista neighbors Taqueria El Poblano and Hellote.

Las Ahumaderas will be your go-to spot for Mexican Street Corn, Tacos de Birria, Al Pastor, and more, without the need to bring your passport. Their Instagram account also makes mention of Chula Vista beer, which the South Bay city has no shortage of. No word yet on which craft beer offerings will be paired up with food on-site.

Signage is up on Broadway and Las Ahumaderas will debut this side of the Border in Summer 2022. Check out sneak peeks of their progress by following on Instagram.
