Eater San Diego reports Sweetgreen is headed to a 2,500 square-foot spot with inside and outside dining spaces.Early 2022 is the opening goal.

Sweetgreen started in 2007 as the brainchild of three college students who wanted access to healthy, fresh food that wasn’t out of their price range. Today, the company seeks to “reimagine fast food for a new era.” Sweetgreen aims to be transparent about its supply chain, cook all of its food from scratch, and “build a community of people who believe in the power of real food.”

So what form does all of this fresh and healthy food take? Sweetgreen serves up salads–sweet and savory–like the kale Caesar, peach & burrata, and buffalo chicken. Warm Bowls offer a mix of warm proteins, fresh vegetables, and dressing.

Oh, and Naomi Osaka recently joined Sweetgreen as their youngest investor. So that’s pretty cool.

Sweetgreen will reportedly continue expanding after this first SD store opens. We’re ready.
