Joya Organic Kitchen has recently announced their La Jolla debut via Instagram. The new restaurant will serve organic eats for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and happy hour. Joya will take up a 4,000-square-foot space at The Boardwalk, a science lab and campus in Torrey Pines.
Backing the restaurant is Clique Hospitality Group, who run entities in multiple cities like Lionfish Coastal Cuisine in San Diego and Del Ray Beach, Florida, to Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge and Side Piece Pizza in Las Vegas. They run multiple lounges and poolside retreat bars in San Diego but this looks to be their first foray onto a campus setting.
Their restaurant’s home base will be tucked into the new life sciences lab and campus, consisting of three buildings connected by uniquely designed walkways. The Boardwalk will feature outdoor common areas, multiple lounge spaces, plus restaurants and cafes.
According to Eater San Diego, joining Joya will be Executive Chef Jose “JoJo” Ruiz, a Clique partner who has created menus for local coastal-cuisine spots Serea and Lionfish. On the menu, you’ll find fresh or grab-and-go options from salads, sandwiches, acai bowls, and smoothies. No word just yet on their Happy Hour or dinner options but their indoor and outdoor space will also be available to rent for private events.
