Earlier this year, What Now San Diego reported on Honney Doffee by Fantasias con Chocolate, a self-proclaimed, first-ever coffee/ dog shop, was preparing to debut in National City at 310B E 8th Street, sharing a building with Mujer Divina. After opening in early summer, the company, led by Jose Rivas, has announced on social media that it will be relocating, saying, “Unfortunately, we are moving due to the city now allowing us to open in this location… Stay tuned for new location.”

While it’s unclear exactly where Honney Doffee is expected to relocate or when, hopefully, it’s sooner rather than later, considering the company initially hoped to open its brick-and-mortar in spring 2024. The dog-friendly coffee shop may actually move into the former home of Mujer Divina. Fantasias Con Chocolate, the parent company of Honney Doffee, recently submitted documentation to the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality to move into the space. Mujer Divina Burrito & Coffee House Chula Vista has relocated to 218 Third Ave.

While this is a snag in the company’s overall journey, the owner stays busy with the company by participating in local pop-ups and events. Honney Doffee recently had its ice cream cart at the El Cajon Lemon Festival, where it offered a limited-time-only lemon pie Gelato ice cream. The company suggests following the dessert shop on social media to know where it will pop up next and where its brick-and-mortar will land.
