Ice Cream Shop Continues to Expand with New Hillcrest Spot

Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream has secured their latest location, this time in Hillcrest. The ice cream franchise will take over a 1,300 square foot space at Regency Centers The Hub, neighboring Ralphs and Trader Joe’s markets.

Founded in 1945, Handel’s operates over 70 locations in 10 states. The ice cream shop has seen quick growth throughout the San Diego market with locations popping up in Carlsbad, Vista, and coming soon to Chula Vista and National City.

Handel’s is known for its exclusive ice cream flavors that are made in house like Monkey Business, Spouse Like a House, and Blue Monster. The tradition began in Ohio and has grown with franchises in Texas, Florida, Nevada, and California.
