The team behind Tahona and Wormwood plan to introduce one of the first NFT cocktail bars on the West Coast with their new concept called Botanica joining North Park. Labeled as a restaurant, bar, and digital age art gallery, Botanica will display NFT art by emerging artists while immersing guests in a unique botanical cocktail experience.

Introduced by Be Saha Hospitality Group, Founder Amar Harrag is no stranger to artisanal spirits. Tahona Bar is known for sourcing a wide selection of mezcal direct from Mexico to San Diego’s Old Town, and Wormwood in North Park pays homage to the history and mysticism of absinthe.

“As a team, we dream up each new concept with the aim of bringing creative, experiential gathering spaces and a sense of community to our neighbors and all San Diegans. And with Botanica, what we conceived is this place that simultaneously transports guests into new realms while very much connecting them to the artistic essence of North Park,” Harrag shares via press release.

The beverage program created by Marina Ferriera is an ode to gin and the old-world botanical spirit genever. Guests can partake in educational tastings to further immerse themselves in the artful craft of botanical spirits at the bar.

Be Saha Culinary Director Janina Garay and Kitchen Manager Tiffany Tran will mix French and Spanish influences for Botanica, serving elevated bar bites complementary to the gin-forward drink menu. Modeled in the style of pintxos, Spanish-style tapas popular in the Basque region and made to be enjoyed over drinks.

Art renderings of Botanica show their NFT (non-fungible tokens) art displayed on custom designed framed display screens, showcasing artists from across the globe. Guests can purchase through the digital art gallery, with proceeds from NFT art sales benefitting the artist and Create Purpose, a 501c3 nonprofit providing educational programs to orphanages in Mexico.

Botanica is expected to debut in Late Summer 2022. Their website is soon to be live www.botanicabarsd.com
