Hot dogs? Hot rods? There’s new restaurant headed to town that might just be interested in wedding these two disparate things. Despite its flashy name, Pounding Wieners Filling Station has a pretty scarce online presence, but the restaurant’s Facebook page, which has been around since September of last year, confirms the new restaurant’s future location: 105 West Grand Ave in Escondido.

The eatery, based on its social media content, will serve up as many hot dogs as you can handle and is currently in the permitting stage for its new home, which is 581 square-feet in size. A Town of Escondido New Business Licensing page from June of this year classifies Pounding Wieners Filling Station as a “snack shack and nonalcoholic beverage bar.”

Like any good filling station, you’ll find Pounding Wieners at a corner, situated on Grand Ave and S Broadway. The eatery will share a block with other hot spots like The Grand Tea Room, A Delight of France, and, the aptly named, Pounders Sports Pub.

We were unable to reach owner Annrae Fitzgerald at the time of publication, so you’ll want to do as Pounding Wieners Filling Station suggests and “watch this space.” It’s probably safe to say we’re all looking forward to learning a little more about this one.
