Owner Felix Berry brought bbq with Southern flair to San Diego back in 2008 with a restaurant in Oceanside and has since expanded to Lake Elsinore, Carlsbad, and San Marcos.

Their menu features homestyle family recipes and classic Southern dishes like seafood gumbo, oxtails, and shrimp and grits. From Felix’s Pit menu, guests will find barbeque favorites like St. Louis ribs, hickory-smoked tri-tip, and beef brisket platters.

In 2016, Felix’s BBQ with Soul announced the closure of their restaurant at Market Creek Plaza in San Diego. Social media followers are now sharing their excitement about the classic BBQ and Soul Food eatery heading back to their neighborhood, saving themselves a drive north.

The new property beneath The Orchard at Hilltop development is located at 5032 Hilltop Drive at Euclid Avenue and features a 6,230-square-foot space with an additional 2,003 square feet of covered patio space.

The team behind Felix’s has yet to announce an opening timeline for the latest restaurant but will update social media followers when that information is finalized. For now, visit their website for location information and follow on Facebook for updates.
