East Village Nutrition will soon debut in their namesake neighborhood, providing a healthy alternative to your typical tea and coffee orders. Their location is in the works on 11th Avenue between J and K, steps from Petco Park and the Central Library.
Owner Jesse Rodriguez tells What Now San Diego, the new spot compliments their five local sister locations like Rancho Nutrition, The Nutrition Place in Chula Vista, and The Nutrition Checkpoint in Miramar, to name a few.
The business focuses on two main products: healthy shakes and energy drinks. Their shakes are between 24-30 grams of protein, with 20 essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients. With cravable flavors like S’mores, and under 300 calories, they’re a good workout recovery drink or full meal replacement option.
“Our herbal teas contain aloe and a product called Liftoff, are usually 30-40 calories, with no sugar, we only use stevia-based sweeteners. The aloe vera gives you added hydration for post-workout,” explains Rodriguez. Some customer favorite energy teas are the Cactus Cooler, Hulk Smash, and Tropical Breeze. Some even come with bright layered colors and flavors if you want to catch an Instagrammable moment.
The East Village menu is the same as your familiar Nutrition spots although specials can vary based on location. Rodriguez says the new location will fit into their new neighborhood, donning Padres colors, and localized artwork inside.
If all goes as planned, East Village Nutrition is expected to fire up their blenders on February 1, 2022. Taking cues through local COVID surges, the EV Nutrition Team is looking at options for offering curbside beverage pickup to keep customers healthy and safe.
