For those unfamiliar with Oklahoma-style burgers, Owner Frank Schulz educated What Now San Diego on what to expect. The burgers are served up with thinly sliced onions, smashed and cooked into the hamburger on a flat-top grill. This gives you a gooey, caramelized, and onion-forward burger.

“We’re unique in that we make everything ourselves from scratch. We make our own pickles, we use fresh-ground beef that’s delivered daily and never frozen, and our french fries are freshly cut,” explains Schulz.

Their menu is straightforward, highlighting their Single ½ lb burgers, or you can order a Double or Triple Patty. Top your burgers with classic thin-sliced onions or Onion Straws, which are your thin-sliced crispy onion option.

On the side, you can order fresh-cut fries or explore their unique variety of toppings. They offer Spanish Fries with fried jalapenos and onions, Chili Cheese, Taco Fries with Carne Asada, and Pesto Fries. The only thing frozen in their establishment is their ice cream for hand-dipped milkshakes. They’ll serve up Death by Chocolate, Fresh Vanilla Bean, and Farm Stand Strawberry.

Duke’s is in the build-out phase and is expected to fire up the grill no later than February 2022. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
