Devil & Angel Desserts are getting ready to introduce their fast-growing beverage and sweets chain to San Diego’s Mission Valley. Coming Soon signage is up at Fashion Valley Mall, wedged between Silverlake Ramen and California Pizza Kitchen.

The all-inclusive dessert shop serves everything from smoothies, boba drinks, colorful tea-based refreshers, soft serve in a taiyaki or waffle-style “devil cones,” and doughnuts. What Now San Diego spoke with Devil & Angel President, Daniel Hwang, who shares, “Devil and Angel refers to the different palates our desserts appeal to.”

Hwang has been in the food service industry for over 20 years, working with various bakeries, soft serve, and boba brands. “We understand the dessert trends change over the years, so we put different desserts together that are popular and appeal to different palates. Can you have boba with ice cream? Yes! We also serve mochi doughnuts and other doughnut styles coming out soon,” shares Hwang. 

Devil & Angel offers a unique menu that’s unlike other specialty shops, creating all of their recipes in-house and staying on top of trending flavors preferred by guests in their specific geographic location. While their offerings are diverse, their menu avoids being overwhelming. Hwang says Devil & Angel offers 8 flavors of boba beverages, four rotating soft serve ice cream flavors, and they never take shortcuts when it comes to serving the best quality ingredients with the best taste. 

Devil & Angel Desserts currently operates four locations in Colorado and Northern and Southern California. The business is expected to open an initial 25 locations, then will assess and grow further in Texas, Florida, and add more locations across California.
