The San Diego Union Tribune reports the new eatery, Well Fed, will be “an anchor of redevelopment efforts” in the area.

Well Fed is backed by OpenGym Hospitality Group. The group is a collective “focused on building sustainable ecosystems of change within communities through the power of  hospitality.” Among OpenGym’s other restaurants are White Rice, Weapon, and Craft Meals, a catering service. The hospitality group also hosts community projects like Fish to Farm, a meal distribution program that supported the food insecure during the COVID-19 crisis. For OpenGym, “food is a powerful tool for sharing stories and the development of our collective identities.”

Well Fed is reportedly set to open next year. Follow Chef Esteban on social media for further updates on his future ventures.
