Located in The Village at Escaya, a residential development in Otay Ranch, Broady’s House of Flavors will offer 35 flavors of gourmet frozen treats that Broady has tried and tested himself. After running a successful IT career for over 20 years, Broady tells What Now San Diego he was ready to have a fun job and fell into ice cream.

“I found this Wisconsin-made ice cream company, family-owned for 65 years with no footprint on the West Coast. I thought, these guys are onto something, and seeing is believing. I visited their factory and their product was mind-blowing. If this company is making ice cream like this but isn’t dealing on the West Coast, this is going to be insane,” explains Broady.

Ice cream makers Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream from Wisconsin have unique flavors like  EXHAUSTED PARENT™, bourbon infused espresso ice cream with chocolate. Or their legacy flavor, THIS $&@! JUST GOT SERIOUS™, a salted caramel ice cream base with fudge and salted cashews.

Beyond 18 unique ice cream flavors, Broady is bringing a delicacy from his home city of Philadelphia to San Diego. The shop will specialize in another 18 flavors of Philly-style Water Ice. If you don’t know, Broady explains, “Finding Water Ice in Philly is like finding a taco shop in San Diego.”

While he works on the build out in Chula Vista, Broady is planning the buzz for the chic new parlor-style shop and future expansion of the business. Check out their shop Instagram page and stay updated on their opening, planned for February 2022
