Moving into a spot previously occupied by Fourpenny House, Boss Bird Kitchen will head for La Mesa Boulevard for a central La Mesa Village location. With numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and bars within a couple of blocks, Chiv thinks it will prove to be a great spot to expand to.

“We want to open only in communities and La Mesa is a growing community,” he said.

First opened in March 2020 at 7580 Miramar Rd., Boss Bird Kitchen serves a variety of chicken burgers and tender combos served with corn biscuits, house fries, bird pickles, and BBK sauce.

“We’re a San Diego-based chicken chain and make everything from scratch,” Chiv said. “I think we have the best chicken sandwich in town.”

Chiv was especially proud of the chili blend that Boss Bird uses for its chicken and that it has no MSG or sugar.

“It’s an all-natural product,” he added.
