Founder and CEO of Body Spa Salons, Debbie Ritchey, does things a little differently when it comes to wellness.
“Ours is a novel concept for beauty and wellness professionals because we offer leased spaces set in a traditional open floor plan,” says Ritchey, a former appointed board member of the State of Nevada Cosmetology Board. “I’m inspired to design thriving workplaces that create amazing energy and opportunities, which is why I founded Body Spa. We bring beauty and wellness professional specialties together, supporting each other’s businesses in a one-stop shop atmosphere.” Body Spa Salons, founded in 2001, has 7 locations open throughout Nevada and SoCal with plans to open 4 more by the year’s end.
Body Spa Salons isn’t one of those models that requires long-term contacts. Instead, independent professionals work for themselves in the space leased and maintained by Body Spa. According to a press release, “Body Spa Carlsbad will provide professionals with an online and on-site leasing opportunity, a directory profile, 24/7 access, concierge, towels, high-speed wifi, back bar, housekeeping, and amazing energy.”
Carlsbad will be the first of several more San Diego county spaces. Speaking with What Now San Diego, Ritchey shared the company is looking into Mission Valley as well. Carlsbad appealed to Ritchey because of its beauty and because the area lacks this kind of one-stop-shop salon experience. “We saw the need in California,” says Ritchey. Body Spa Salon, with a location right on the water in Newport Beach, is also in the process of expanding to Arizona.
Body Spa Carlsbad will be located at 5617 Paseo Del Norte in a 5,200 square-foot facility and is currently leasing spaces to professionals specializing in hair, nails, skin, massage, and medical/wellness like weight-reducing services, med-spas, vitamin infusions, and acupuncture, among other services.
