Barrio Donas, which specializes in donuts with a Mexican twist, have been added to the growing list of food vendors at soon-to-open Old Town Urban Market. They will join Mar Rustico and Tuetano Taqueria in the newly revamped Miranda Courtyard.
According to Eater, Barrio Donas will not only focus on sweet treats but will soon roll out savory items like tamales and empanadas. They currently offer updated versions of classic Mexican flavors but in donut form at their Clairemont Mesa bakery. You’ll find flavors like Chocolate Abuelita, Horchata, and Cajeta, plus vegan options like their Jamaica-glazed donut.
Restaurants Mar Rustico and Tuetano Taqueria will be the first to debut at the food collective on November 26th. For the rest of the vendors, it’s unclear if we’ll have to wait until December.
