Last year, local entrepreneur Tali Burton signed a 27-unit agreement with Jimmy John’s to bring the East Coast eatery to San Diego in the next six years. Burton had already partnered with parent company Inspire Brands and operates 15 Dunkin’ locations. Burton holds the exclusive rights to expand the Jimmy John’s and Dunkin’ Donuts brands across San Diego County.
The group has also signed on to bring Jimmy John’s and Dunkin’ to the SDSU-adjacent student housing property, Topaz Apartments. Due to complete construction in the Summer of 2023, the combination eatery will install at the base of the mixed-use development alongside Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream.
According to reports by Eater, the C Street site Downtown has been in the works since 2019. The location is expected to include a tech-focused setup for an even faster and more convenient customer experience. Jimmy John’s is already known for its Freaky Fast experience, with in-house delivery services, and an online ordering platform with a rewards program.
No word yet on when we can expect another combination outpost of Dunkin’ and Jimmy John’s. For now, visit the Dunkin’ website to find the nearest location.
